April Daisy White is featured in Henry Jaglom’s film SHOPPING, due to be
released in spring of 2005. She played real life character Sonia Biberman,
costarring with Jeff Goldblum in ONE OF THE HOLLYWOOD TEN, directed by Karl Francis and
played poet Sylvia Plath in DEFYING THE STARS, directed by Carrie Hamilton.
Born in France of American parents, she has worked extensively in Europe. In
France she starred in the prominent television series LE RIRE DE CAIN, directed by
Marcel Moussy, and also in BILLY, directed by the Caesar winning director Marcel
Bluwal. In Rome she co-starred in POWER AND LOVERS with Gemma Redgrave. Other
film credits include PICKING UP THE PIECES, directed by Alfonso Arau. THE
BALKAN RUNNER, TE MARRE PAS C’EST POUR RIRE, VIOLATED, and SILENT MADNESS.
On
stage Miss White played Lula in THE DUTCHMAN at The Theatre at the Improv for
which she won an LA WEEKLY AWARD in 2000. She made her Broadway debut working for
Tony Randall’s National Actor’s Theatre in THE LITTLE HOTEL ON THE SIDE,
directed by Tom Moore, starring: Lynne Redgrave, Tony Randall, and Rob Lowe. She
followed a second season in the company with THE SEAGULL, directed by Marshall
Mason starring Jon Voight, Tyne Daly, Laura Li nney, and Ethan Hawke. She played
Carol in OLEANNA, at the Rome International Theatre. Her Off-Broadway credits
include: THE CHRISTMAS RULES, LA RONDE, A SHAYNA MAIDEL, and THE JACK AND TONY
BURLESQUE SHOW directed by Martin Charnin. Other L.A. theatre credits include:
BALONEY and CRAZY EIGHTS.
Currently Daisy has written SUGAR, a one-woman show
about her life. SUGAR takes us through her journey and healing of her time
working as an international call girl. SUGAR was produced in L.A. at Edgemar Center for the
Arts under the direction of Larry Moss in 2004. Concurrently she is
writing her memoir LOVE FOR SALE. She is co-founder of RADIANT PRODUCTIONS,
which focuses on producing and directing projects promoting social advocacy for
minority groups, focusing on the homeless community and Bosnia rape camps.
April is also working on a documentary about sex-workers, which explores the
human side of prostitution, THE OTHER SIDE OF NIGHT.
She teaches a memoir
writing class, "Right Your Life by Writing Your Life", facilitating other artists to tell their true-life stories.
Miss White has worked as an acting coach with
many actors on films.
