“Surely all art is the result of one's having been in danger, of having gone through an experience all the way to the end, where no one can go any further.”
--Rainer Maria Rilke |
“A man who has a vision is not able
to use the power of it until after he has performed the
vision on earth for people to see”

“ Fiction isn’t delivering the news. Memoir is. At its best, in the hands of a writer able to command the tools of the novelist--character, scene, plot-the memoir can
achieve unmatchable depth and resonance.”
New York Times Magazine - May '96
"A bird must sing, it’s your human right to tell your story”
Tristine Rainer -Your Life as Story
Every life has a story! By expressing yours you can reclaim your life. You may right your life by writing your life. By understanding yourself from your own writer’s eyes, pieces of your life become more congruent.
There is a true story in you!
- Know you are safe to write the truth
- Learn from other’s stories the value of yours
- Right your life by writing your life
- Write about your life truthfully
- Learn what’s true about you!
- Write in the service of your own soul
We All Have Important Stories to Tell
The more specific you are about your own circumstances the more universal you become. In a safe group environment write about your life with specificity. Tell the stories you could never tell.
Go to places you’ve forgotten! The truth lives deep
within you, your senses need to be inspired, awakened, and gently coaxed to the surface in order for you to recount the stories of your life.
Own your life by writing it! Bear witness to yourself, because once revealed and secret free, your life is your own.
Turn the Struggle of Your Past Into Authentic Art
We all feel a need to run from our pain, we fear its impact, we feel shame, we want to hide, pretend we have nothing to say. The truth is that writing about your struggle, pain, process, growth, discovery, all that is the story of your life, helps you to create your life anew. Expressing your struggle authentically gives birth to your depth and to you as an artist. It is only when you enter into the true feelings of the past that you can share it authentically in the present.
“You have got to own your days and name them, each one of them, or else the years go right by and none of them belong to you”
--Herb Gardner
Remember, every life has a story, come tell yours!
Express your truth! Find your life by telling it!

“A self is made, not given. It is a creative and active process of
attending a life that must be heard, shaped, seen, said aloud into the world, finally enacted and woven into the lives of others. Then a life attended is not an act of narcissism or disregard for others; on the contrary, it is searching through the treasures and debris
of ordinary existence for the clear points of intensity that do not erode, do not separate us, that are most intensely our own, yet other people’s too. The best lives and stories are made up of minute particulars that somehow are also universal and of use
to others as well as oneself.”

Testimonials
"Writing your Life saved me from a fate worse than death -- living with my nightmares. Daisy coaxes them out of me ... one hellish day at a time. Daisy is a great writer, intuitive teacher and brilliant actress- once-in-a-lifetime experience. Daisy's class is a gift!
"Sharon van Ivan
"Writing, which ultimately is a process done alone, has been brought through Daisy’s guidance into the light of the world. Baby steps taken in the group have built my personal belief and birthed my true voice. Understanding that one must first write, read out loud, and then take responsibility for the written word, has been my grand discovery. I think she called it polishing your pain till it shines."
Richard Hoover
"Daisy’s writing class guides you to move past hurts and pain to writing about your life. By unraveling our pain and getting to the core of the "self", we are able to fully flourish. Her class is a medium to unleash the writer."
Sarah Berkowitz
"Daisy has a wonderful ability to make you feel, while at the same time developing each of our personal writing styles Daisy has very quickly become a role model and mentor to many of us."
Cheyenne Tanner
"Daisy makes the class what it is –phenomenal! She's an exceptional teacher. She's supportive; talented and knowledgeable; open and resourceful. Daisy goes beyond teaching. I know the good it does me when I can apply all that I've learned outside of class."
Molly Dudley
" 'A gym for the soul' The soul needs nurturing and cultivation in order to
grow and expand. Daisy's class provides every student with this opportunity. Her
class is a safe, challenging, intelligent, and progressive environment. Most
important, Daisy's ability and intentions are of the highest caliber. Her
sharp mind and compassionate heart contribute to her effectiveness in working
individually with every student. In dealing with matters of human transformation
Daisy is full of integrity. This is illustrated by her uncompromising
dedication to seeking truth in everyone including herself. After being in Daisy's
class: I've raised the level of my consciousness. I've become more present and raw
in the experience of my emotions. I am more confident and courageous than I
have ever been in my abilities as an artist and expression of my humanity. In 2
words: PERSONAL FREEDOM"
Navid Noorvash
"It took me years to understand that my secrets were what were keeping me from being fully myself and standing in my life! For years I had people, places, and things all renting space inside my soul. It wasn’t until I wrote my story, SUGAR that I was able to fully accept myself and contribute."

There is Only One You
To Quote Martha Graham
“ Because there is only one of you in all time, the expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium…and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable it is; nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you.”
Martha Graham
“All suffering is bearable. If it is seen as part of a story”
